However, the United States Food and Drug Administration does regulate nicotine replacement therapy products so there has been some amount of testing that have gone into them.

It is important to note that using nicotine replacement therapy may not be as effective when used alone. However, if you are taking special care to address other problems that are related to your smoking, such as a psychological, emotional problems or if you can get into a formal smoking cessation program, this will greatly increase your odds to quit smoking. It is important to note that you don’t have to be in any type of formal program. As long as you address other issues that are related to your smoking, then nicotine replacement therapy will give you a greater chance to stop smoking.
