Stop Smoking Laser Treatment
A fairly new smoking cessation method is laser therapy. Cold laser therapy is very similar to acupuncture except that there are no needles used. Instead, a laser targets various energy points in the body. What this does is encourages the body to release endorphins. Endorphins help us to feel relaxed and calm and also helps decrease the amount of nicotine cravings and withdrawals that many people who are attempting to quit smoking go through. Some people who go through the cold laser therapy, claim that they feel relaxed and happy.
Laser therapy, not only works to help release endorphins, but also helps the body get rid of nicotine and in this way acts as a detoxifier. Once nicotine leaves your body, then your body no longer goes through withdrawal symptoms. Withdrawal symptoms often times, make it more likely that people will go back to smoking, in order to quell the fidgeting, headaches and agitation .
There have yet to be many formal studies to test the clinical effectiveness of laser therapy. However, there are some that are in the works, and there is some talk that it will be up for US Food & Drug Administration approval.
The primary claims of laser therapy are that it helps to detoxify the body of nicotine so that you don’t have as powerful withdrawal symptoms. It also helps you feel better because it helps to release endorphins. And this is great at the beginning stages, because it much easier to stop smoking when you don’t have withdrawal symptoms. However, you will also have to treat the underlying causes of your smoking, perhaps change your habits and maybe even hanging around with people who are a bad influence, that won’t support you in your efforts and put up barriers to you being healthy and smoke-free.
You also want to get rid of any tobacco that you have in your possession and encourage those around you to quit smoking as well or at least, not when you are around. If you can afford it or if your job provides insurance, you may also want to consider counseling or may be consider joining a support group. If you follow these tips and take these positive steps, then you will greatly increase the likelihood that you will stay smoke-free.
